For sound you'll bebefit more from and Induction kit over a Panel filter,as posted above most people will reccomend the BMC CDA but they're alittle pricey. You basically want a sealed unit rather than a cone because of the location of the throttle body,a cone will just be sucking in warm air from the engine bay.You can pick up cheap sealed units for about £40-80.

that sounds about right as to what i want to pay - any ideas of a decent make/model of a sealed unit for around that price?

For around £80 ur not goin to get much on the performance increase as said ul just suck up warm air,

However this new kit comes with everything you need and will move the filter into a better place for the heat soak, i reckon this is everything you need!

You get the lot and seems up ur street matey.............

looks alright pal, cheers for that

not toooo bothered about performance really, just a bit more of a 'sporty' sound lol

any one else got one they can recommend?

*edit*

after having a search around, ive found this K&n 57i one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0128442612

i know its not sealed, but im not too bothered about better performance for now, as long as it sounds better and doesnt perform worse then it originally does now?!

reckon if i get this it will perform just as good? or will it be worse (as its not sealed)

Personally i wouldn't bother with an unsealed unit mate.It would gain more heatsoak than the standard airbox so in theory would perform alittle worse.Just me opinion though, keep looking and get a sealed unit be much more worth it.

Where abouts are you located dude?.My friend has a brand new Pipercross Viper kit for sale. It's been fitted to his Seat Ibiza FR then he took it off. He's asking £80 for it which is abit of a bargain.
