James' Polo
Re: James' Polo
Get this slammed mate! You'll be surprised how much better it'll look, you've got a hard colour to get looking right (is it chagal blue?) so fair play for trying. I'd colour code the door handles, lower it and get a 6n2 GTi front splitter and I think you'll be on to a winner. I know what you mean about student budget, i've not bought much for mine in ages (treat of pressed plates, thats my christmas present!).

Yeh blue sidelights are illegal, white LED sidelights however are not.
Re: James' Polo
Get yourself a set of white LED sidelights buddy, look great and 100% legal
Re: James' Polo
ive had 2 6n polos one of this colour. good move on changing the grill! not fan of the seat belt cover. definetly get coilies as a 40mm drop is not noticeable on a 6n. dont know about 60. i think that if you had 16valve bumpers the exhaust will sit under it nicely and will transform the front look of the car .. also the engine looks very clean. keep up the good work!

Cheers mate!
Do you know what colour this is then? lol im not sure
I find the seatbelts really cut into you so thats my reasoning behind them. Yeah i want it lower than 40 and definatly bumpers, also after a bonnet bra.

Re: James' Polo
Hi,
Just read this entire thread in one and I think your polo has turned out really well. Very glad you ditched those lexus lights (I think they look plain wrong) and I wasn't a fan of the old alloys or chrome grill strips either. But I'm really liking the 'dark' theme (black headlights, smoked tail lights, and smoked side repeaters, as well as dark grey alloys) and everything else really. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the tailpipe. It's a little OTT in my opinion but I can look past it! Would love to know what it sounds like with that exhaust. I bet it sounds a little different to my '99 1.0L!! I've just joined this forum after finding a link to it randomly, looks pretty good so far. Your mods have inspired me to change something with my polo, which is currently blessed with one 'modification' consisting of hub cabs from a golf. Although the previous owner did add several parking dents but I don't think they really count. Although to be honest I'm not looking to do much to mine, it will stay as a pretty standard example.
Good luck with the car!
