Re: Boot Bulb
Pop it open and have a ganders! Really easy to access (I'm in uni so can't check my own)
Re: Boot Bulb
Thats assuming you have the light fitting in the boot?
My polo for some reason doesnt appear to have ever had a light in the boot... the cables are there behind the pannel... but no holder... most odd!

Yeh, mine was all there. But the wires weren't connected up, they were tucked away

Re: Boot Bulb
Took the bulb out this evening, it's a C5W for future reference!
The filament looks to be intact, which leads me to the possibility of this being a wiring problem! (very unlike my car to have wiring problems!!

Re: Boot Bulb
Its probably not wiring - its most likely to be a fault in the lock microswitch as these fail all the time (this controls the boot light, and the open boot light on the dash)

Re: Boot Bulb
Or it's not wired up properly, as this has been a popular issue with the 6N2.
There's a plug socket that joins wires further down the line (under the rear passenger seat carpet normally IIRC) that has often been found to not be connected up properly.

Re: Boot Bulb
I can't say I've ever seen a "boot open" indicator on the dash, although I'm not sure I've ever been sat in the driving seat whilst the boot is open! Where am I likely to find the boot lock microswitch?
I'll also check the wiring as per Tim's comment.
