For some reason, my gt has eaten a tyre on one side and not on the other: wierd eh!
Anyways, What have you folks with 165/65/13 sized tyres got on?
i haven't got a clue what make to go for, don't really want to be buying s**t hot tyres cos i'll just kill them, but then i don't want no-name s**t that will send me off the road at the first corner.
any advice folks?
Matt

How wide are your wheels? If ur sticking with steelies and theyre only 4.5" wide you cant fit any wider than 165s on but if theyre 5.5" wide which they might be on a coupe, I dunno Ive never owned one you can get 175/60s whichs are a very good all round tyre size (std g40 size) Just dont get budget ones and you should be fine. Look on my tyres http://www.mytyres.co.uk they have tyre reviews and stuff its worth a look
If the tyres are the same age, then I'd certainly be checking the tracking and, at a push, make sure the suspensions not weak on one side.
Wear on the shoulder of the tyre is normally down to tracking or even loss of tyre pressure for a prolonged period.
Patchy wear due to weak/failed shock.
If you're looking for new tyres, try: http://www.mytyres.co.uk/
I bought a set of Toyo's... great price and a pretty good tyre as well.

The wheels I got off Dave B had similar signs on - three ace tyres, and one that was mostly good across the majority but knackered on one edge, oddly the inside one (thought I could get away with it til MOT time because the car would *never* be riding on it unless something got bent, but the bloody garage had to go spot it
).
When I was picking them up he told me it came off a Mk4 with crapped up tracking and suspension on one side. Does the problem wheel look a bit funny (ie leaning to one side more) when the car is at rest, compared to the others? Or is it spread evenly over the whole surface, which is possibly something else (or it's toed in compared to the other, when the wheel is straight)
That's what I can remember anyhow, give a reminder if you're watching mr burton.
