Raceland Manifold Gasket / Fitting

Post by 6N2 GTI 00 »

I bought my Raceland Manifold last year from Kam Racing and it didnt come with a Gasket so I wasn’t sure whether the standard OEM Gasket would be suitable.
As Manifold Gaskets are so cheap anyway I ended up buying a new one from Volksapart which was specifically for the 6N2 GTI.

I prepared the manifold with Heat Wrap and removed all the unnecessary bits which are aimed at the 6N 1.4 then took it to my local garage for a fitment quote.
The Guy who I know there had a look and said that the Gasket that I bought won’t be suitable for the Raceland manifold, he said I needed to find the correct gasket because the OEM Gasket wouldnt last 5 minutes.

I just wanted to know if he was right? and if so which Gasket would be suitable?

Any of you guys got a Raceland fitted to your GTI and if so which gasket are you using?

Cheers :D

Your standard gasket will be more then fine! If your unsure just get one machined up. Wouldnt cost to much

Yeah I was thinking of getting one specially made and fortunately my dad could do that for me but I wanted to know what everybody else had done. There are a few people on here with the Raceland's fitted so I want to know what they have done.

I thought it would be alright because otherwise the Raceland would come supplied with a gasket. Thanks again
