Polo 1.9Tdi PD130 6 Speed *Car is Sold! :( NEW PICS Pg5*

Post by Shaheenem »

Hey guys

Noob on the forum...

Here's a small right up with pics of my car...

This is what it looked liek when i first got her in November 2009

Then i decided that i wanted the Polo Gti headlights but didnt want to fork out R4000 for them so i decided to do some DIY in the form of the "Joey Mod"

Came out great IMHO plus i saved myself R4000

First pic is the lense with the chrome backing.

Second pic is of the headlight backing.

Third pic is of the chrome backing that unscrews from the lense with 3 screws.

Forth pic is of the chrome backing that i sanded down and sprayed. Sorry for the poor quality pic. Camera didnt focus.

Fifth pic. A comparison of the normal headlight with the one I sprayed.

Then i finally installed them...

Then got around to doing a De-cat...

Fitted a Golf 5 Gti Steering Wheel

After that i fitted the Dash Cubby, 17" Detroit Reps, Pgti pedals, 6000K Xenon HID kit, PD160 Intake, Fins on the fender, Cupra Lip.

Here are some better pics of the dash cubby. (Part number: 6Q0857465C1QB - R957 + VAT from VWSA)

Then i added some fins on the fender from the Polo Gti front & Rear. Dont know if anyone else noticed this on the PGti's.

Cheers. Bought it from www.vaglink.com Worked out to about 35 pounds including shipping from hong kong.

Was 86 pounds. Got it from a friend who was selling his car.

Definitely thinking about it. Have done a de-cat. Need to do a full 63mm exhaust with 63mm downpipe and then front mount intercooler then i will do the remap. Dimsport in South Africa does amazing things with the PD engines so will be taking it in the next couple of months.

Hey guys

Picked up my car today... I think it came out great!!!

Blacked out the front and did the gloss B pillars. Going to fit my strut brace this evening!

What you think? Should i put the Gti front grill with the chrome strip around or should i just leave the standard grill?

Car is going in tomorrow for 35% Lumar smash & grab.

Let me know what you guys think?

Oh my god... I love it! I might copy your idea. Go for the standard GTi grille with red strip. I don't like the chrome too much, and would maybe only suit black Polo's? Where you have blacked your front bumper, I'm getting Carbon on it this coming Tuesday! :D

Looks fuc*ing amazing mate! GREAT JOB!

Thanks guys!

I had them painted. Its a waste to buy them. Cost too much. Cost me less than £10 to paint them.

Car looks sweet dude.. Really starting to like the look of it..

The lights are awesome, but i would never trust myself to do all that work without messing them up bigstyle.

Where did you get the splitter from.. looks nice.. Did you get the front sprayed? was it expensive..?
