Your already doing it for me......tornado_ally wrote:This is the bit when the diesel heads persuade you to go for the czech or spanish option........... wait for it.......
If you don't like the Skoda badge (or is it the name/reputation that people still bang on about??), which does look a bit like a flying penis fair enough. There are loads of people who do and it's your money.
You could wait until there are some second hand polos on the market if you are deperate for VW emblem on the front of your car, as I am sure there will be enough buying it for that reason alone.
You would still be looking at £12000 from a dealer though.
now what can you buy for £12000..................
one of those new Zetec-S Fiestas

Re: flying!
I kinda like the smoke from the back - it's great when you've got a tailgater right behind you - put your foot down and leave him in a cloud of sootjon_poloV wrote:those diesels are rapid! i was walking down the street and i saw on pull away from some traffic lights and i was well impressed apart from the dark smoke out the back. it flew!

Polo 1.9 TDI (100PS)
Just a bit of useless info but here in South Africa for the 1st time this year the 1.9 TDI's are racing in the Polo Cup along with the 1.6 petrol cars. The TDI's motors have been tweaked to output approx 80kw and are well on the lap times of the tuned 1.6 petrols. For more info check out this link http://www.vw.co.za/ourworld/mediacentr ... toryID=113
Cheers

Just to clarify, i have no problems with the Ibiza or the vRS as I've driven the Seat and my mate has the vRS and they are both really fast cars but its the engine that makes them that fast and pick up so much speed through the gears. However what the others are saying is that they want that engine in a Polo body shell. yeah it will cost a bit more but then again you can get a bit more when you come to sell it.
The other argument is not selling it all. When i spoke to the people at Inters who had these amazing cars they didn't care about resale values and they just wanted the car looking good and going fast. Dunno if any of you spoke to the silver VR6 just opposite the UK Polos stand but the chap spent 20K on the VR with some parts I cant even pronounce. I'dd like to be as care free for example take out the 1.4 and stick in a 225 TT engine, gear box and clutch, bolt on a supercharger and a nice sound system and fcuk worryin about selling it because.... wel who cares
