Post by dantheram »

Can someone jot down a quick DIY bonnet removal guide for me. There seems to be some strange looking attactments on the arms, dont really know what tool would shift em!!

Thanks in advance,

Ah those bloody bolts :( , they're called Ribe bits, quite a specialist bolt head and are found on the driveshaft retaining bolts aswell etc, i got a really good set for 20 quid, sealey i think. They just snap on to your socket or whatever. Worth investing in for dub owners

Ribe bits?

They are called Spline bits. Halfords sell them, as do places like GSF, Euro etc. Even screwfix sell them last time i looked :P

Ok, ive got the spline bits but now i cant get the bloody arm that holds the bonnet open off!! it has a captive bolt on and no onther way of detaching, as far as i can see.
Anyone know how to get it off without sawing the nut off?
