Aye its the way forward!

I'm hoping to finally get the cleaning over and done with this week (week off yay!)...exterior trims, rubbers, plastics, interior top to bottom including the leather

Its gonna be back on the road mid-March (the way it currently looks anyhow). Will need to be MOT'd and Taxed again though.

I swear these cars are never ending money pits!

The spending will never end. They should definately make a money tree just especially for car maintenance.

haha yes that picture was a bit misleading :P

UPDATE:

Ordered a new shark fin aerial, as the signal on the current one isnt the greatest (i need a good signal so that my sat nav will pick up TMC signals), and the paint is all cracked on it :( Got one of these for the brothers Polo the other day, and it works surprisingly well!

Yep! that's why I haven't spent a thing on mine in months, figured it looks great as it is so there's no point. Although my ATSs will definitely get refurbed when it's being driven again.

Levelled the bonnet out today :) Now it sits perfectly yay!

Picking up the remainder of the wiring so I can get the loom done on the mirror to a decent standard (I pray that it works after all this fuss!), and also have the alternator to change on the mk3 tomorrow

Another fun filled day ahead!

Alex.. does the electric mirror also have led downlighters in it?

The electric mirror in the toureag (sp?) has a redish led that rather cunningly illuminates the centre console when its dark.. looks awsome

No Dunc, it doesnt :( Its a proper 6n2 mirror, so unfortunately never had that option. I know exactly the feature you are talking about though!

It was an option, and a very expensive one at that! Mine came with the grey one...i just fancied a black one lol (but it has different wiring as its a rain sensor one)

UPDATE:

Wired in the new interior mirror today. Had to heatshrink the connections up for now though as the connector is on backorder for a week which sucks! Also need to change the live feed on it, as the previous mirror is on a permanent live, and I forgot to move it lol :P

Also ordered a new top mount and some new bolts (one of the mount nuts has unseated itself, so needs replacing), some new caps for the suspension towers as they are missing, and a coulple of little clips for the suspension towers.

So as always, its all going on!
