chrome cap for air vent grill piece

hello everyone,
i've been desperately searching for the chrome covers for this piece of plastic:

my dad's A6 has those covers, and so do the old A3's and the new Golfs. is there an item like this for 9n? if not, would the covers of the golf or A3 fit? Has anyone looked into this? I'd be grateful if you guys could help me with some part numbers or suggestions. Thanks a lot in advance,

As far as I know there is no part for the 9N. Maybe on the GTI

Also has an A3/A4 gearknob, which looks fantastic!

To get those chrome bits, you need salvage them off a Passat, new A4, A6 or A8, lots of hassle imho.

my dad has a 2000 A6 which he will be turning in in the summer. i can remove the chrome caps in the rear air vents! how do you think they would come off? heating??

bump to this age old post

just did this:

used aluminum tape and gently cut around the contour, then went over it with a sharp tool so it looked smooth.

thanks to kostas (vwclub.gr) for the idea!
