Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread - Does the spending stop?

Post by alexperkins »

Aye it does, but it comes at a price...bloody excess!

Anyhow, ordered all the new parts for the Wishbone and ARB today. New connecting links, bushes, washers, nuts, two new bolts, a new wishbone rear mount and a handful of clips for different wiring here and there in the engine!

Should all arrive tomorrow, but I need to take the rear bush mount to a garage so they can use a hydraulic press to seat it into the wishbone properly (thats the reason the last one came out as it wasnt done correctly, and was warped in the process!)

Bush has been pressed in so I can get it all back together tonight. Will get some photos in the process of all the new bits that are being replaced.

Hopefully all is well now. I just need to get my new windscreen arranged and the sensor wiring fitted

Remember that evil kerb just after I got it resprayed?

Well it got repaired back then, but it was irreversibly warped out of shape, and now all the paint has cracked even more so, so I figured as they are going to be come hard to get hold of, get a new one and try fix the existing one again. All failing, fit the new one and happy days!

In other news, ordered a KnN cleaning kit....BMC is in need of some cleaning!

50/50 would be enough. The thing is, anything past that, youll need springs and shocks as the ride on factory will be too firm and the shocks will be ruined very quickly!

That was before it was all colour coded too!
