Should I even be considering these?

Post by Lakey »

Basically I'm really eager to get my car lowered but as I am currently studying away at uni, I can only afford to buy something cheap. It's either that or I keep on driving around at the standard height.

Was gonna invest in some TAs but then I found those on ebay... can't really find any info about them so I was wondering if anyone here knows anything?

Perhaps I should just stay well away, they seem a bit too cheap...

from my own experience id not touch cheap coilovers again they were horrid and nothing compared to the KWs i run now , like night and day really , id think you get what you pay for , maybe consider a damper and spring kit?.

I found these cheap coilovers on ebay....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COILOVER-VW-POLO- ... 73ffdaa14f

asked people on my progress thread what they thought of them and they said
you get what you paid for, there good for the price, ive had them in the past, i have expensive ones now there aint much diff lol.
just a bit softer.
A very tempting price, But personally I wouldnt want to go for cheap suspension. Its one of the most important components on the car and you want it to be reliable and high quality otherwise it can start affecting other parts on the car (tyres etc)

Some people say they're good others say rubbish.
Do a search on the forum for "Coilovers" and you'll find a pretty lengthy debate on ebay coilovers!

I'm about to buy some AP coilovers because my stock suspension is nackered, wouldnt really want to settle for anything less
but now personally i think im just going to get some springs, but it depends how far you want to drop it, im only going like 35-40mm
