To my surprise when I ordered a replacement spring for my KWs I found out I have the Variant 2s and not the Variant 1s after all.
Bargain!
I can apparently adjust the rebound damping, no doubt if I fiddle with it I'll end up ruining the setup!
Found out a nice KW surprise today!

Re: Found out a nice KW surprise today!
Fitted the replacement spring last night. What a mission. First of all the coilovers were filled with gunk so I could unwind them to fit the top mount onto the strut, then the standard strut is such a pain to get off even with a makeshift splitting tool, and to top it all off the bolt span in the top mount because the captive nut sheared. So once this was drilled out it went well..... 3 hours later!
Still, at least I now have the same springs each side, unbroken, and about to get new tyres on the rear to get it all back on track
Note to everyone - front springs and struts are a pain to change.
