Rob,
Because the Polo is a Trolley! There is more space in the rear arches for the edge of the tyre to meet the arch you can put wider wheels on the back and it makes the car look Phat!

I think that would be possible if you have ET38 offset and rolled arches. As long as you stick to 195's you'll be fine. I noticed your car is poised with the nose lower than the rear this will also give you more space in the rear arches for 9s. I think that you'd easily get away with 13s tho!

i have enough problems with scrubage so going for wider wheels and tyres isn't really my thing, i'm having enough problems with y ones atm!

rob, i agree, rear wheel drive cars have bigger rear tyres, tis all well and good having big tyres on the back, but i don't c the point! plus there still isn't alot of room under those rear archs as they are!

They are indeed front wheel drive but your missing the point, is a cult look to have wider wheels on the rear at the moment and it looks cool.

I'm not missing the point. I have a really big pet hate for fwd cars with wide wheels on the back.

It's stupid.

If you're going to have wide wheels out back, then match them up front too.

It cacks up the ride and handling with too-big wheels/tyres on a car this small and light anyway doesnt it?
Last I heard anyone expanding on the subject the agreement was that 14" is the optimal size (though im afraid i didnt get the width)
