Gearbox help

Hi, its that time i was dreading but its got to be done as i love my car too much.
The gearbox has started making noise on my Gti, and crunching in gears. I want to get it refurbed so that it will last longer.
Where's the cheapest and good place to go? I live in the east london/ Romford area.
