I have just changed the coolant in my gti and when i refilled the car the fan instantly came on and stayed on. i have changed the green sensor on the tubing entering the engine block and re-sealed the sensor on the radiator housing (half way down on the right as you look in).
Any ideas why my fan is now a permanent feature?
Dan

Re: fan issue?!
Hmm sounds like you may have shorted the fan switch - did you get the connections wet?
Either that or you have an air bubble or blockage somewhere causing the radiator to get hot enough to the point where the fan will cut in, but based on the fact it happened instantly it would suggest the fan switch is at fault.

Hmm sounds very odd. Didnt get the fan motor wet did you? I would check the connections are all clean - give them a blash with some WD40 or compressed air to ensure its all good.
Re: fan issue?!
cleaned it all up and tested it today and all is well. No idea what caused it but its fine now.
