Back box is going on my 02 1.9tdi sport....Problem is there doesn't seem to be a join between the back box and the centre box is this normal on these??? I've checked the specs on various exhaust sites and it doesn't seem right but I've double checked and deffo can't see the join.
Anybody else had this problem or know if its the same on there car. Please let me know.

Re: Polo 1.9 tdi exhaust question
They are often straight through from factory on the varying Polo models.
Most garages just cut them in two where the new exhaust pipe ends, then fit a sleeve over the top to join the two together.

You can do it yourself - just get a decent hacksaw its easy enough!
Yes halfords, or GSF or euro car parts - GSF generally have the best range mind you!

Re: Polo 1.9 tdi exhaust question
You still have the original exhaust on your car. Look at the exhaust pipe after it comes out of the rear box heading towards the engine you will notice a series of three indentations. These are there for a reason. So you know where to cut the pipe if replacing the rear box or middle section.
I cut at the point where the second indentation is and found this to be fine for a gti back box to be fitted.
