1 headlight brighter than the other..?

Post by MrP »

I've just noticed that one headlight is brighter than the other? The drivers (offside) has a more white-ish/yellowish tint where as the passenger (nearside) is more white/blue look?

I've only owned the car a few days so could the bulbs be mis-matched or could this be a sign of a bulb/ballast on its way out? It's the first time i've owned HID's, its all new to me so any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

HID bulbs change colour with age they go yellower over time

Just get two new bulbs if it bothers you :) 6000k for a great look too!

As alex said really upgrade the bulbs for new ones either in ahigher kelvin rating of in the origional 4300k.You could always pop the blue cloured bulb out and try it in the other headlight to make sure it is the bulb thats at fault.Hope you manage sort it out.

Just an update, I've noticed on first start up of the headlights both are just as bright, then after 20-40 secs the offside one starts to dull, does this sound like a 'on its way out' bulb or something more sinister?
