Never upgraded to 280mm as I felt it was more of a show mod, and you can't see them under any of my wheels.
Yeah I heard the 280's dont really make much difference anyway so think I will stick to the 256 discs.

That's true your Mono Comps & ATS cups do hide the discs anyway :)

Pics of the car during the service:

And destroyed fuel filter!
Image

One side bent due to the angle in which it comes out, the other snapped off inside the hosing! Which was a nightmare to get out

Looks good even with no wheels 8)

That Fuel filter looks like it had seen better days!

Got many plans for the car over the summer?

How did you snap the fuel filter!? Tell me you didnt just prise the connectors off, and instead pushed in the button on them for quick release?!

I simply followed your instructions Mr. Perkins, "alternatively levering a large screwdriver underneath the lip of the connections to make them 'pop' off". Not recommended! I worked out how the tabs worked by studying the ones top of the fuel tank, then sorted it out! Only the replaceable filter was damaged fortunately.

Tidy up the bay, get it all spanking and possibly sell it! I know I keep going on about it, but I really think it's time (although I'm really struggling to let it go!)

Be a sad day when you let it go. Would you put the money from the sale towards your MK1 Golf project?

Yeh I plan to buy a mk3 Polo GT for now, then put aside the spare change for a mk1 Golf when I have the time and cash.

right now I need a more practical car, that's cheaper and I dont care so much about!

It's hard to let it go though :(

Mk3 GT nice choice Timo

Ouch. It worked when I did it - i guess it just depends on how much leverage you apply. Push in the clips is the best way though :P

It will be a shame to see it go thats for sure!

I love the rep it has, and hate the fact that buying a mark3 will seem like a downgrade. But in the bigger picture it does make sense, the car will only lose value, and I don't think in this coming year I'll have the time to give it the attention it needs. Best to sell it when it's at it's peak with me, and let someone else have a go with it.

Further update:

Car had it's belated MOT today (was two weeks overdue pushing it? ) Passed no fails, no advisories. Two years running 8)

Yeh Rhys I've got them, I have a feeling I'll have a crap load after this weekend, so I'll chuck them all on a disc for you after. Actually that's a good point, I've got a disc floating about somewhere with loads of pics of your car from last year!

will do.

Car cleaning time! interior polish and hoover, door hinges wash and wax, exterior wash, clay, glaze, and wax, and maybe the engine bay if I have time!

Pity it's spitting with rain :(
