Mint Polo GTI - Leather, sat nav, fsh, low miles!

Post by mboyle4 »

This is just a feeler at the moment. I'm not desperate to sell but if I get the right price I am tempted. It is a 2001 Diamond Black Pearl 3 door model

The car has a huge standard specification including:

xenon headlamps with heated washer jets
Climatronic climate control
EDL - Traction Control
leather steering wheel gear knob and handbrake
chrome dial surrounds
electric windows
electric heated mirrors
driver and passeneger airbags
ABS
PAS
Front and Rear Mudflaps
Full leather interior with heated front seats and side airbags (very rare and expensive option)
vw satelite navigation/cd/tuner, linked to 6cd auto changer and 6speakers (very rare and expensive option)

Additional Spec
Almost new 16" Polished Dotz Mugello multispoke wheels on new 195/40/16 toyo proxes tyres (£600)
New Eibach 50mm lowering springs fitted a month ago costing £250 (Eibach springs recommended by VW - original springs included in sale)
GTI Sill Plates
Drivers Stubby Mirror (rare)

The Gti is a rare car but even rarer with this high spec, my example is enthusiast owned I am the third owner, the two previous mature owners both worked at Conventry Audi. I viewed a number of these cars until I found this low mileage unmolested example a couple of years ago. The car has a full service history from new and has only covered 60k. It has been serviced by VW/Audi virtually every 5000 miles from new with the two latest services being carried out at my local garage. The gti had its cambelt changed recenly which cost me nearly £500 and this example has never suffered from any gearbox problems which unfortunatly some do.

The car was serviced about a month ago and also had a spark plug and brake fluid change and the new eibach springs fitted.
As I've mentioned this is a feeler at the moment but if I get genuine interest at the price I want then I would consider selling it. I also need to put the original regitsration back on the car which is on a Y plate. Plenty of tax and 11months Mot. (I intend on buying a Alfa Romeo GTV V6 in the summer - sorry guys)

Offers around £4500 (located in derbyshire)

Im not really sure about the decision. I just think its kind of now or never to buy a 'sports car' as I don't have kids yet and stuff and Ive loved the alfa gtv v6's for some time now so im thinking of changing to one. You can get a decent one for similar money to gti's. Don't get me wrong I love the polo, its been a great car and I will probably regret it if it sells but I think Im just ready for a change. Bit of a risky decision going for an alfa but im very tempted.....

Sensible offers around the asking price will be accepted, thanks - Martin

As with the wheels mate really i'd rather sell with the car, I suppose I could probably get a lot more for the items seperatly but ive then got to replace them and the car will probably be less desireable for potential buyers.

here are a couple of links though if you want to look into these parts yourselves guys:

Wheels:
http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp?P_ID=1612

Sat Nav:
http://cgi.ebay.de/Navi-Navigation-Volk ... 25594aa65c

(I would deffinatly reccomend the 'mcd' over the 'mfd' sat nav as the 'mcd' plays music cd's and navi discs through its single slot, the mfd is navi only)

That's a nice car, the wheels are amazing. Might have to get them for my 9n. I almost mistook them for diamond cut RXIIs at first glance! They look OEM with the VW centre caps. Out of interest, what size are the centre caps?

Thanks mate, got someone coming to look at the weekend so may be going sooner than I thought. Funny you should say that about the wheels because I saw a newer shape polo with my wheels on piston heads yesterday, heres the link to give you some idea of how it looks:

The centre caps are 60mm mate

Just sold my GTI to the first viewer. 'first to see will buy' as they say. Really sad to see the gti go as its been a super car to own in all respects. Thanks for the help on the forum throughout my ownership guys.
