Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd introduce myself

I'm Dan, 23 and a race technician from Lancashire and i own a 2002 9n PD100 Sport and i have BIG plans for it.

Would love to hear your thoughts about it as i think its something really unique and will be amazing when its down.

Plans for my 9N:

* Full strip done to bear nothing and fully resprayed bright white (the colour could change as i can sometimes change my mind lol)
* Wide arch kit similar to that of the Dahlback Racing Polo and it all smoothed out.
* Engine swap from the current 1.9 TDI engine to an Audi 3.0 six pot TDi engine, keeping the quattro system (modified) with a remap, uprated turbo, FMIC and custom exhaust. Looking for around 350BHP but with the added advantage of good MPG!
* Full CC Rollcage minus the door bars.
* FW Variant 2 Suspension
* Brakes are unknown at the moment but they will be whatever i can fit under 18 inch wheels. Probably going to be Comp Brake bells and rotors kits.
* 18 Inch wheels to be decided but will be a motorsport application such as Compomotives etc.
* Wide arch kit similar to that of the Dahlback Racing Polo.
* Seats are going to be some uber amazing motorsport bucket seats, probably Cobras.
* Interior is going to be injected with a little bit of colour i think as its rather boring at the minute, flocked top and carbon fibre peices here and there. Keeping the AC and CD player as its going to be a daily driver.

Essentially, i'm wanting to build a car thats quite unique, with a lot of power, keeping the diesel for MPG and keeping it quattro powered thats a bit of a rally slag

I have a lot more things planned for it but not everything is fully sorted yet, mostly the little things.

Bit of a tall order there mate. Can i sugest for the brakes go for mk4 r32 brakes they stop me bros golf good enough he got 108% effecny on mot. They are standerd disc and pads. Anyway good luck with this

It is indeed a tall order but it'll be done

Ive been speaking to a few companies and a few people about the engine / drivetrain swap and getting some good answers.

If anyone knows of a good gearbox setup that may suit this, i'd appreciate it.

Just to open a can of worms, a tricked up 1.9 PD130 engine, once you've sorted fuelling out can do 270BHP+ with a bit of head work and a GTB2260VK. I'd think it'd weigh much less than the 3 litre unit too...there's my 2 pence anyway. 2.0 TDI 16v engines have even more potential, without the weight penalty. Interesting project nonetheless.

I appreciate that Thats one of the reasons i wanted to disclose it to everyone as i aprreciate peoples opinions and would like to hear what people think.

Can i ask what you did to the 130 engine to get it up to that spec? Think if i was to keep the 1.9 engine, i'd have to stroke it lol. I need to see how much all of the engine options weight as i don't want the thing to be scraping its nose and too light at the back...

I am just about to hybrid mine n hoping for 220+ with water meth I can run 240+ and if I was to run a larger cooler I could get 260

I personally haven't done anything to the 1.9l engines, but spend a lot of time on tdiclub.com and keep upto speed. Basically, 265+ can be achieved on a PD130 without internal mods. You need a Garrett GTB2260VK turbo and a custom manifold, FMIC, Bosio Race 783 nozzles for the injectors and free flowing exhaust (nothing fancy, basically a straight pipe directly from the turbo). That's pretty much it, and can be done for well under £2k, mayeb under £1.5k. Obviously a remap and a strong clutch are required. After that, you're looking at flowing the head, valves, etc. You're current engine should actually be good for 300ish BHP once the internals are strengthened. The PD130/150 use stronger conrods than the PD100, the former being good for atleast 250 BHP, not too sure about the PD100 ones though. Although, the PD130 would benefit from stronger rods if you're aiming to push high power. Rosten rods are highly acclaimed.

I'll try and dig up more info on the 2.0l 16v Audi A3, but that was running 300+ BHP without laughing gas. If going Quattro, I'd suggest trying to go Quattro, ie torsen and not "Quattro" haldex bs ie 4motion. Although, that means mounting the engine longitudinally...could be "interesting" doing that in the Polo, but if you were trying to fit the V6 TDI in there, this should be a piece of cake.

I reckon longitudinal 2.0 16v from an Audi A4 and run the propshaft through the exhaust tunnel...will need a bit of fabrication, but it should be doable. There's a stupidly high powered Lupo with a TDI and AWD, if that can be done, it should be doable in a Polo. Might have to come and have a look, I'm a Lancashire boy myself when I'm not at uni

The main thing im after is a four wheel drive Polo with perhaps a bigger engine in it as a 1.9 PD engine won't be suitable for four wheel drive conversion, keep your comments coming guys!
