Loud howling sound between 70 to 80 mph

Hey guys i noticed that my gti is very noisy when im on the motoway between the speeds of 70 and 80 mph like a howling woooing sound but

quite deep if you know what i mean below 70 mph is fine and after 80 mph its fine

anyone know what it could be?

Does it make this noise when in other gears at around the same 3200-4000rpm rev range?.

Could be a wheel bearing perhaps

Ah right,so just like a howling noise no vibrations or anything?.Could be a wheel bearing like alex said,jack it up and check for play in the wheels.

jacked it up theres play in the rear left wheel checked all other wheels and there fine, so need to get it changed, anyone know roughly how much it will cost and also ive heard they need to be changed in pairs?
