Reversing Light not working :(

Hi Guys, my reversing light has packed up, checked the bulb and fuse in the dashboard.... Any ideas what else it could be ?

Are the other lights working on that light cluster as well? Possible there's an issue with the wiring. Did you try replacing the bulb rather than just checking it?

Sure, if you can't get it going I wouldn't be too worried... it's not an MOT requirement anyway

that happened to me... i thought it was the switch after checking all of the usual stuff. turned out the connector had come loose (words from the garage)

Check the plug on the reverse light switch is secure, and if it is, check the switch is functioning with a multimeter

Try replacing the bulb - bulbs can fail even though they look ok.

Ok I've replaced the bulb anyway, made no difference, i'll check the connection with a multimeter later on... could it possibly the connecter into the gearbox???

switch went on mine, its only £9.15 luckily i work for veedub

I've noticed the reverse light doesn't work on our 6N2 either.. the bulb is ok as I tested it in the indicator port..

The clutch was replaced recently - you think the mechanic might have knocked the switch off?

Is it easy to find??

Its on the front of the gearbox (ie towards the bumper side) you cant really miss it

Ah forgot to mention: i unplugged mine gave it a clean with some wd-40, pushed her back in and everything was hunky dorey..

Fixed

It wasn't even plugged in, just sat on the edge of the switch connector lol Must've been disconnected during the clutch install.
