Central Locking Nightmare!

Post by Lytescary »

I swear my car doesn't want me to sell it! After the cambelt tensioner fiasco costing me a lovely £291(!) the locks have decided to pack up. I noticed that it wouldn't lock when I dropped it off at the garage.

After getting in back today the remote locking will not lock. The central locking will also not work if you use the key. So I thought it was just going to be simple and it just be the pump, but no the central locking still works if you press the lock button on the inside of the car. Its really strange as the key fob still sets the alarm and this goes off if you open the doors which haven't locked.

Does anyone have any ideas? To lock the car I have to go around and lock each door individually and then set the alarm. I have no idea what it could be as it clearly isnt the pump and but the pump makes no attempt to lock/unlock via the fob or putting the key in the door.

Any help!? At this rate i'll have to keep the car!

I seem to have solved the problem just by pressing the alarm button in the back just behind the driver's seat.
Seems that it has just reset the system. :)

Now does anyone want to buy a GTi with a new cambelt kit just been fitted? Lol
