Help!

Hi, thought that I'd use some carburettor cleaner on my cars throttle body as it was idling a little rough, also it was covered in black muck. So after doing a search on here I found someone that said you have to get someone to rev the engine gently while I spray some in. I did this, tho' afterwords it's idling very very rough. The person said to go for a drive and try to get rid of the residue. On the drive it was still rough although I was driving it hard to try to sort this out. The person that I found on here said that I need to get a vag com to re set it or something?

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
