Amp wiring to front door speaker

Post by Kuru14 »

Hi all, currently redoing my ice and fitting new co-axials in all four doors and amping these.. have managed to do the rear fine as there were no speakers previously however am having trouble with the fronts..

whats the best way to route the wires from the speaker through the door into the cabin? have looked and there doesnt seem to be any space behind the black rubber grommet as there is 3 plug type sockets for all the other electrics in the door

any help would be great thanks :)

hi, i only have 2 doors but im sure my consept will work fine in urs. i removed back seats and made a custom shelf to mount a sub and 2 6x9's with amp in boot. i hid the wires along the passenger side of the car pulling back the carpet and side clothe and putting it under there. abit fiddly but well worth it, u cant see the wires.

i had trouble aswell transfering the wiring from the battery into the car and the only way to do it is through tht rubber grommit. it still is a real tight fit after u remove the grommit but it does go through. worst comes to worst just carve abit of metal oit or drill a new hole.

This is how i did mine, ill try and explain as best as possible lol

I ran my wires satrting outside the door speaker mount, into the speaker mount/hole and into this rubber piping grommet, then halfway through make a small hole so you can poke the wire out. At this point you wire will be into the door up part of thet grommet then poking out.

Now if you look in between the car and door just above where the 'pipe' grommet is ther is another large standard circle grommet. make a hole again in this and feed the wire through. internally this grommet is found just above the bonnet catch lever, through the inner body skin (youll know what i mean).

You should now have the wire leading from the door into the car :D just run the leads under the trim to the rear and your done!

These are good grommets and a good thickness so making a small hole will not let water in as the wire will fit tightly! Good luck!
