I've just racked up my bills, and I've spent £762.50 since April on parts and services!!
Is anyone in the same boat to make me feel a little better!!!?
I was living in Headingley as a student. I'm back in Sheffield now, I really should update that!Dom_ wrote:Not much yet, apart from insurance and buying the damn thing![]()
But over the next few weeks..
4x New tyres
All alloys refurbed
Some 30mm springs
New centre caps
Other little bits and bobs too
Edit: Just noticed you're from Leeds, whereabouts?
Fooooking hell!! 10k!! That's a lot of cash.. But your GTi is sick! I love the engine bay and that little race tow bar! 3 Sets of wheels!!? I know which wheels would suit your car down to a tee!Trottagti wrote:well i took out a loan for 5000t to buy and fix things on the car, wirhout insurance and servicing...... Then another 1500 on brake upgrade, exhaust upgade, fioter upgrade, suspension upgade and then 3 sets off alloys at 750 so far without tyres and this year is another 3000 loan for interior and other stuff so over 10000 easy as iv missed a milion things lol! I'm hoping PlastX will clear them up enough that I'm happy with, though it is runing the front end of the car
Not bad really!Bradley wrote:Biggest cost for me was buying my car.I saved every penny and hunted for 3 months until the right one came up.
Have had two new tyres this year at £160.
MOT,Oil change, cambelt, auxillary belt and cambelt tensioners etc at VW for a haggled price of £400.
New suspension at £460.
But thats my car pretty sorted on major bits for a couple of years.
Well that was my issue, spending too much just getting the car in a good running order. The money will need to be spent to sell the car on, but at which point the car should be good for at least a few years so might as well keep it!bradley1983 wrote:Mine........well.........
2 gearboxes, 1st one £200 second hand, 2nd full rebuild £550
belt and pump £300
4 tyres £250
central locking pump £70
front breaks £150
and now I need new shocks, and maybe axle, window switches.
Its too much and its getting done and sold
Whats up with it??bradley1983 wrote:I love my car and don't want to sell it but its costing too much. its on 60,000 and i'm the second owner. full VW service up to 45k.
