I had a new rear badge delivered on Friday which is the same as the standard VW badge but the insert has already been sprayed black which looks quality. Got it for £10 + delivery so pretty happy with that
Just wanted to know what people recommend for removing the original badge? and how I go about fitting the new badge?
I pressume the best method of fitting the new badge is some form of adhesive pad but if people could point me in the right direction as to what they have used it would appreciated.
Mine definately was not professionally sprayed as stated in the sale thread but still it was cheaper than buying one off the bay.You can carefully prise it off with your hand, clean up the surface on the car and refit it with 2mm foan number plate sticky strips or simular dude.
I hope it comes off fairly easily.
I will have to get myself some of those number plate pads, are they strong enough to hold it for years to come though?

Should be. That's all it's stuck on with, a black coloured foam pad.
yeah the halfords pads do i took mine off as i was fidderling with it (trying to get the rubber bit out from underneath itself as id accidently pushed it in) and i fiddled a bit to much and made it loose lol
i first tried number plate tape (on all the V and W bits) but that fell off. so i got some number plate pads just the 1mm ones and stuck all three on and cut the corners off.
its held nicely as emma said above all that its stuck on with anyways is a black 1mm round sticky pad

Hope you get on ok with it dude.
Cheers Bradley, you have always got a trick up your sleeve so I look forward to seeing what you do with it
I got the pads off eBay yesterday so they should be with me later in the week and i'll have a go at fitting it
is it easy to actually dismantle the badge, so u can spray it urself? i want to do mine but i know il end up breaking it.... is it as easy as just pulling the badge off the back and then prising it apart?

They are quite difficult to prise apart because they have a series of plastic pins on the back which snap for fun so you need to be careful when removing them.
I just saved myself time & effort and bought one which was already done

You can pull the badge off quite easily then on the back there is 6 small plastic type rivets. You can remove the cap part of the rivet with a stanley knife and seperate the two peices.Once you've sprayed it you can put 6 small dabs of glue over the 6 points and let it dry.Good to go.

Yeah as Bradley said They are £14 new from Volkswagen but obviously need to be sprayed.
The new badge I have had delivered looks like a bit of bodge job really, only one of the 6 plastic rivets has a head and the rest have been snapped off.
It still looks fine but its not the strongest.
