what is my car worth

Post by bradley1983 »

5 Door, Silver, 12 month MOT, 6 tax, new gearbox with 11 months warrenty, new breaks and tyres.

It has a full VW history and Scorpion Back box. 60,000 miles.

6 Disc VW changer in the boot.

I'm putting it up at the end of the month and want a rough price.

Depending on condition of the paint, wheels etc i would say about £3000.

Its a fairly low millage, so as long as its standard which is what most people would prefer you should get a very reasonable price.

EDIT: Just seen its a 5-door a bit less dude. But a low millage good bodywork example will sell with ease.

I would say about £3,000 too because of the mileage.
60K is low for a GTI these days so you should see £3k I wouldnt take any less than £2,800 for it.

If I were you I'd advertise it for £3,500 and wouldn't go less that £3,000.

As Ben said, 60,000miles is low mileage on GTi's now.

it had a full VW cam belt and pump kit. No cheap Euro parts one.

The wheels are starting to corrode so the rim is being re done in red this week.

Body is CLEAN!!! I have just re sprayed all the marks!!!

Yeah Emma is spot on advertise it for more and then you can reduce the price if neccesary.
Despite cars losing value rapidly the GTI's prices seem to have remained more or less the same in the last 2 years, especially the low mileage examples like yours. I would want 4K for mine now if I was to sell it and mine is on 68,000 miles.

I have spent £1k in the last 3 months on it.

Time to go back to a RX7 I think.

RX7's are more problematic than the GTI, great cars but they always go wrong.

I agree but my mate is a drifting GOD, he uses and rebuilds them.

His one is running 551bhp.

I will keep mine standard! When you play with things you get problems!

I am looking at a R32 later tonight. Just have to see what the bank manager says?

They are lovely looking cars but that w**k engine is renown for problems, if you keep it standard you will improve your chances :)

R32 golf or R32 Skyline??? 8)

RX7 & 200ZX are kings of the drifting world.
I'm off to Castle Combe race track this weekend and there will be some drifting action on show again :D can't wait!

To be honest dude the R32 Skyline would be cheaper than the R32 Golf.
You can get an old skyline for £3000 now, were talking 1992 onwards though so not modern by todays standards.

Castle Combes is in Bristol mate, quality race track
