Need some input

Post by VeeDubEuro »

Ok guys- first post so be nice:)

ive had my 6n2 1ltrE for about a year now- i passed in may this year- ive had 3 cars before this polo, im looking to upshift so to speak 8)

do you think a 1.4 TDI 6n2 remapped to 192FTlbs of torque and 103BHP would be a nice move? id also be putting in a carbon cold air feed system and smoothing the bumpers with my paint lad

Car BHP Torque (ftlbs) Doors Weight
1.0E 50(ish) 63 (5 Door) 925kgs (DRY)
1.4TDI SE 75 (103) 144(192) (3 Door) 1088kgs (DRY)

Comments/criticism extremly welcome

thanks guys

To be honest mate anything other than a 1 litre will be a nice power upgrade for you.
Re-mapped TDI would be a nice upgrade but so would a 1.4 8 & 16v petrol 6N2, especially if you can source the rare 1.4 16V 100BHP model.

A re-mapped TDI will give the GTI a good run for its money at a fraction of the cost so they do attract alot of attention, very torqy and pull like a steam train up hills whilst offering awesome fuel economy too.

I'm a petrol head and would always choose a Petrol over a Diesel anyday of the week but I do have huge respect for TDI's.

The downside to a TDI is they sound like tractors and the plumes of black smoke are not that attractive :)

I agree.

I want to sell my GTi for an TDi but can't do it.

I will just have to put my petrol on finance.

Iye the 9N GT with the PD130 lump are rapid when re-mapped, you will destroy both the 6N2 & 9N3 GTI's with a re-mapped GT.
Very nice cars and pretty rare too, downside is they are about £6.5-7K still at the moment

gearbox, pedal box and clutch are all in replacement age at that point if not already done, plus its time for a second cambelt change also!

Check if its been done

all done:) pedal box i think was changed early on also hehe- it has ronal turbo's, on coily's and stretched tyres- a few vulgar stickers suck as an R32 on and a volkswagon sunstrip... but removable thank god hehe

Just make sure it's had its timing belt and water pump done otherwise it'll be a costly service on the next one.

Go have a look at it and see what you think of it..

And when you're ready to have it remapped, give me a shout (Elite Remaps).

All the info is here mate:

http://eliteremaps.com/detay.asp?ProdID=2063

We've not tested that one for economy yet, but generally you can expect upto 15% increase in economy.

We're a professional company mate, with almost 60 installers just in the UK now - so please don't compare with the £150 ebay clowns.

Our standard price is £249+VAT and that includes me coming to you.

Once you've got the car, drop me a line and mention you're from here and I'll offer you a deal depending on my workload at the time.

Good luck!
