Yours must be just as quick though? yours has been mapped hasnt it?
What mileage is your dad's GTI on now then? I remember it was unbelivably low mileage when he got it

16100 lol still like new!
Oh it is, its just got the hesitant power feeling like it just wants to go all the time. Something older cars generally dont have so much over time

My god thats low, well thats an understatement really.
I would be too afraid to go anywhere in it with that mileage lol
That even makes Bradleys GTI seem like a high mileage example haha

Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread - Cruise control fitte
Haha indeed indeed
Got a small list of things to do over the winter this year, hopefully including getting the rx2s professionally refurbed, painting the calipers, and possibly getting the front end resprayed to get rid of a few small issues there are at present.
Other than that, just a few bits of work that need doing on the Mk3 to keep it up to scratch, but apart from that, all is currently well...though ive cursed it now so something is bound to go wrong!

Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread - Cruise control fitte
Sounds like some nice winter plans Alex, pretty much identical to what I have planned if i'm honest.
I want to get my RXII's centre's re-done, paint my calipers and get my front bumper, splitter & bonnet resprayed
Hopefully nothing will go wrong for you, mine is probably due a fault soon too

Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread - Cruise control fitte
Haha fair play
Im definately gonna get the front end redone (bonnet and bumper maybe wings but not necessary at the moment)
Gonna take the calipers off in a few weeks and paint them up all nice and red
In other news, its spotless ready for players on Sunday now!

Good Stuff Alex
How much are you expecting it to cost you for the front end spray jobs?
I was thinking about £200 for the bonnet & front bumper

Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread - Cruise control fitte
It'll be a lot more than that. Bodywork has rocketed recently due to the cost of paint. More like 400
