Exterior/Bodywork
As you can see from the pictures, the car is finished in reflex silver. The pictures show that this is a much loved and cared for car. It is a completely unmolested and rare Polo GTI (They were only made for a 2yr period, approx 3000 made in each colour, in 3 or 5 door options).
The bodywork is in very good order all over, very straight with no accident damage. The paintwork is in good condition and original.
The car also benefits from having the original VW BBS alloy wheels, which to be fair, are showing signs of the vehicle’s age, and could do with a refurb (see pictures).
Added bonuses are the optional xenon headlights with headlight washers (from Factory) and front fog lights.
Engine
1600 16v (125bhp)
Only covered a genuine 57000 miles. This mileage is well below the normal average.
The engine benefits from recently having the cam belt, tensioners & water pump changed, as advised by VW every 4 years, as well as a large service, including spark plugs, dust filter & air filter.
The engine is backed up by a full service history, with various receipts for work done. It is completely unmodified.
Gearbox
The most commonly known fault with these vehicles is a weak gearbox! I have had the gearbox overhauled, reconditioned & modified in June/July 2009, at 49039 miles. I also had a new clutch & clutch cable fitted at the same time, for peace of mind.
The pedal box recall has also been carried out & my local VW Dealer confirmed this for me before I brought the car.
Interior
The interior is in exceptional condition.
The car benefits from having a fully working Climatronic system. It also has electric windows - one touch, electric heated mirrors, PAS, factory fitted central locking, alarm & immobiliser as standard, Driver & passenger air bags, ABS and VW tool kit.
It is fitted with a aftermarket Panasonic radio/cassette head unit and 8 disc multi-changer in boot. Included in sale.
