window switch problem

Post by bradley1983 »

Has anyone alse had a problem with their switches playing up?

If it don't work all I have to do is slam the door and it works but this is becoming annoying!

When you press it you can hear the switch working (clicking noise) but no action. This is making me angry!!!

Mine did this. You'll probably have a broken or damaged wire in the rubber tube between the door and the car.

Find it and crimp it!

I have the same problem, however I can't see any broken wires in the rubber boot.

How do I get the motor/regulator out so that I can have a look/drown it in WD40!!??

Have/had the same problem. It was intermittent or didn't open the windows at all.

Took door apart and found the switches were faulty. The switch doesn't make a good contact or possibly the metal is a bit corroded. The switch fell apart when we took it out so was a pain to piece back together. Now it works 80% of the time but could probably do with a replacement.
