How to remove steering wheel

I've got haynes out and it says to prize the spring clips in the hub of the wheel I've tired pushing a d pulling them to release the airbag but can't get it to release. Anyone got any hints or tips?

To get the airbag out successfully it's easier to remove the under tray where the steering wheel is, and when you are releasing hhe airbag don't push the screwdriver in too far. You need to push the handle up into the steering wheel so the other end is going downwards. When you try it you'll see what I mean, but its easy to remove...if you try too hard, it becomes a real pain in the ass
