Wheel Refurb Info for Yorkshire Area Owners

Aye up all,

It's the ol' wheel refurb topic raising it's head again i'm afraid............

This time though just to advise people of a place in Barnsley that do wheel refurbs.

The place is called Metal Magic (01226-298544) and i've just got back from there having been to get a quote for all four of my wheels to be done.

They have quoted the following prices..........

Â£35 per wheel (inc. VAT) if you take your wheels in to them. They have a 2-3 day turnaround.

If, like me, you can't go without your car for a couple of days then for an extra Â£25 per vehicle they do a drive-in same day service!!!!

So my quote for all four wheels is Â£165 same day drive-in!!!!! only thing is they are booked up till July but i don't mind waiting a few weeks.

Thats really good! The best I've found so far was BVJ Engineering down near Hemel Hempstead and they were Â£60 per alloy, although that was in a whole new finish and stuff... Â£165 for all four and all on the same day?? Fantastic

Question time:
Do they definitely know the alloy is a 2-piece split-rim, cos it usually costs a bit to get these kind of alloys done?
Do they do any other finishes other than back to standard?
And finally do they have a website?

The answers to your questions.

1. Yes they know i have split rims as i took the car to them today and the guy had a look at them himself. He seemed to know about this kinda problem with the BBS split rims so must have had a few in before.

2. I got a price list off the guy today and they also do smoke chrome & bright chrome for Â£15 extra per wheel.

3. It doesn't look like they have a website but their contact details are as follows...........

That is a great price, some places won't even touch split rims. I live a fair drive from barnsley but I reckon it would be worth the drive if mine start to perrish in later life. Let us know what the finish is like maybe even a picture

Ok Marc i'll try and remember to take some before and after piccies when i get them done.......

As i said in the original posting they are booked up till July, (which i reckon is a good sign if they are THAT popular), I am phoning them tomorrow to actually book mine in, i think i am going to go for the last week in July.
