Rattling/Vibrating Dash

How long after you got the car (brand new) did you notice the dash rattles?

Was this instant or a few of months down the line?

I have had my brand new Polo for over a month now with no rattles.

I can hear a very tiny squeak when I accelerate or brake but I wouldnt of noticed it if I hadnt had the radio and air blower switched off.

My dash seems to have a spongy rubber feel to it

I am hoping that the new 04 built cars have different dashes.

Mine is an 03 car and i have no dash rattles. I have a squeak/creak from the steering wheel but that'll be easily sorted when I get the cruise control fitted.

Note: I didn't say I don't get occasional creaks but i'm not nieve (sp?) enough to think that it shouldn't because a) It's only plastic and metal and b) It's not an Excutive saloon.

I'll try and get you a picture of an A4 steering cowl soon. I think that's all thats needed to explain why an A4 doesn't rattle (and why its 3X the price!

I could be wrong but why should I start believing what they say now. They've **** me for the last 15 months

Like you I bought the Polo new in March 2003 back and forth to garage nearly every couple of weeks with problems . Phonecalls to dealer and VW , letters to VW etc but I have now fixed all my problems ..... last week I traded the heap of junk in . My last 5 cars have been Polos but this car has put me off VW for life . The quality of their cars has slipped dramaticaly and their customer service is appauling to say the least the only thing they excell at is telling fookin lies !!!!!!!!!!

Tell me about it Stephen! This is the last time I take it in, the new bushes work fine by the way!

I noticed the rattles about a day or so after buying the car so hopefully yours should be ok Vdubber.

Anymore problems (unless major) will be undertaken by me or my friends down http://www.midlandvw.com as they actually take care and pride in their work and do a proper job.

I'll still be writing a letter to the MD at the dealer. Its the customer service i 'don't' receive that pisses me off the most

Well picked my car up last night and 3 miles down the road it started the exact same rattle again.

Going to rip it aprt myself at the weekend and sort it properly.

At least in the mean time ive got my upgraded rear speakers to drown out the noise and my road angel to keep me entertained.

Its got a speedo on it and when the cars says im doing 100mph the RA says its doing 92. I wander which is right?

Picked up my 9N yesterday! And they managed to cure the rattle! Haven't a clue how they did it but I'm guessing foam was involved as there was a lot offcuttings on the car floor when I picked it up!

Just waiting for the next problem now.....
