coolant leak - problem area.

Post by Ricochet »

hi everyone,

seem to have a steady small leak when hot or cooling down, SEEMS to be around the fan sensor/thermo switch low down onthe side of the rad, not that i can see it clearly .

any one had this ?

?'s is there a gasket on the sensor? Haynes says it screws in/out ,

how to dis connect the electrical plug/connector ? twist , or pull or depress 'clip' ? don't really want to end up with broken plastic and dangly wires

Collant leaks are always a worry , especially doing 60 miles to/from work ,40 on M/way!

all help/advice welcome. cheers.

some of the sensors have a circlip type plastic thing that you need to look for - not sure on the one you mention.

You prise the circlip out using a small screwdriver and then the sensor simply pulls out with a bit of force. There's a rubber circular ring that seals the sensor in.
