Judder/stutter??
Judder/stutter??
Hello, was driving my car yesterday an noticed that the car was shaking a little after starting it - like the engine was about to stall or something - this disappeared when I put foot on gas.
But when driving the car felt like it was jerking a little on low revs I believe. Any ideas what it could be?

Re: Judder/stutter??
these cars dont have dizzys tom
its all electronic
its most likely either a spark plug failure, an HT lead is split and arcing or not connected, or the coil pack has failed

Thanks for the replies, I'll check it out. Weather was decent yesterday - took it for a drive but it was alright I think - only juddered once while drivin along...I dono if that's another clue to what it could be? Maybe it's weather related - I'll drive it again an see how it is today

Re: Judder/stutter??
Likely to be an HT lead - take the all the leads out one at a time and inspect them. Any splits or damage to the lead tape them up with insulating tape for now, and get a new lead on order.
Re: Judder/stutter??
Get it vagcom checked... There is a measuring block which will tell the you misfire count on each cylinder.. I did this and it turned out to be misfiring on cylinder three.. Which was actually caused by the lambda.. Go figure...
But I would check the HT's first... Also check the coil.. Mine was missing a pin on the actual coil (had corroded off!!) and was causing a misfire..

Re: Judder/stutter??
I need to try and find someone with a VAGCOM in Notts. Are they expensive?
On a side note it's completely fixed - by itself! Dono why it did that?
I'll take it on a long run today - see how it goes

Re: Judder/stutter??
if its a lead, the weather can make it behave better or worse due to moisture

Ahh top man!
I'll have to arrange to come up sometime
I think ur probably right about it being a lead then, because it's been driving good recently
