2005 gt tdi exhaust emmisions light on

Hi folks my missus has a 2005 gt tdi. the exhaust emmisions light came a few weeks ago she took it to the local vw garage to get it checked out they plugged it into the computer and cleared the fault they told her it was just a blip and probably won't come again. Next day it came on again so i booked the car in for a full service and get the light sorted out full service done two days later light is back on the car. can anyone help ?

Egr might be blocked. Or did this get checked on service

they said it might be the egr valve or the lamba sensor but neither showed up on the computer. is it a big job to clean the egr valve or do i need a new one ?

Last time mine come on mate on the GT it was because a glow plug had gone

It not hard to clean just take off and use some clutch cleaner. If a glow plugs gone it won't like to start in the cold weather
