9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
Just been looking on Ebay and have no idea which ones to go for. Don't really want to spend more than £250...don't need to slam it as thats just not pratical for me.
So whats everyone got...whats good and whats not?

Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
u after new or used?
Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
Ap only sit over the wheel on the springs they supply I had to get custom so they sit in the arch a bit better
Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
I'd try and get your hands on a used set for that price. Be better than the budget ones you can buy, if you dont mind used ones.
I've heards the shocks in the FK's are crap too, I was looking at them myself.

Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
I will have some KW variant 2's for sale soon. One has a brand new spring. They're in OK condition, never tried to adjust the rebound damping though.
Worth about £800 from what I remember, I would want £200 for them, plus postage.

In all honesty I find it abit strange that someone would take these off their car (unless there was something wrong with them) and then sell them. Is it not quite a time consuming job fitting them?
Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
instead of buyin budget ones one like the cheap version of the FKs buy some used but highly branded ones theres a big difference in quality. people take them off because theyve either had enough of speed bumps or there geting rid of there car so its not unusual

Here's a DIY guide for it, the one I'll be using next weekend to fit them to my car I hope.
Luckily, my mates brother one's a garange with 2 post jacks and a spring compressor, so with both of us, shouldnt take long to do!

Re: 9n Coilovers...on abit of a budget
I'm taking them off because the car is being sold soon, I get some money in my pocket and the car is much easier to sell - not many people want a low car. When the coilovers are worth so much it's definitely a good thing taking them off to sell.
It is a time consuming job, and paying someone makes it not worth taking them on and off very often - although I have a friend who is doing it for around half price.
If you don't have decent spring compressors it's nearly impossible to get the original springs back on the front. Fitting the coilovers is easier because you don't have to compress them due to their shorter length.

I bought a budget set from eBay a few weeks ago, Rokkor's. £155 brand new delivered!

A LOT of people online talk trash about budget coilovers and especially "ebay specials". But I assure you if you want a cheap set-up, and you dont plan on absolutely railing your car to the floor, then they're worth every penny and do the trick nicely!
I had FK Highsport in my old Vento, £450 odds from what I remember. I'll never pay big bucks like that again for a suspension set-up.
Worst comes to worst and they s**t themselves after a year or two, you've got your money's worth
Ive got mine wound down to near their maximum (so i wouldnt advise you buy them if your expecting to slam your 9N, cos they simply wont) .. but as I said, they do the job. The ride is fine. Not too solid, or bouncy. A teeny bit soft maybe. And before any1 starts talking dung about "cornering etc", you wouldnt need to worry about that if you were sticking to the speed limits on normal roads [your not on a racetrack]
Heres my 9N with them in..
