Is he a friend? Or is this what he's told you?

you 100% on the figures for your polo?

Was it a rolling start or standing start?

A 150hp petrol will always be faster than a 150 diesal cos a petrol loves to rev and keeps it's power better than a diesal

cooper or cooper s?
cooper s either 160 or 180 bhp or something around those lines, obviously the works one being over 200
if its just a cooper its only a 1.6 na isnt it?
vrs supposed to be a 130 so probably just did something wrong against the cooper

cooper s is 150,

VRS is 130 on paper - dynod at 150 some of them, being a 100 remapped you would keep up to one n maybe get a slight lead but not rape him, if so he cant drive

 i can assure you my vrs will show up cars with alot more bhp.
My fabia atm is running 195bhp 455nm torque and there isn't many cars in day to day driving which are faster.
My best mates 300 bhp 2.0t new rocco is about the same, and my clutch can't put the power down as it's slipping.

(this reminds me to update my build thread on here  )

this is just one of those threads where its a case of whos driving whats under the bonnet, what gear, reaction time... theres too many variables, and which cooper s is 150? the early supercharged ones were a round 160 , and the later turbocharged ones more than that? i remember from looking at autodata but even parkers shows the variations

early cooper s (supercharged) http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/sum ... model=1270

late cooper s (turbocharged) http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/sum ... model=1544

Early Cooper S (supercharged) was 163bhp
This was upgraded to 170bhp in the later Supercharged ones 2004>

Then the newer S's with the turbo charged unit are 175bhp most of which dyno @ around 190bhp

Used to own a MINI myself, and still a big fan. These are the right numbers folks :D

Did you know a remapped Cooper kicks out about 130bhp? This being a petrol engine and more revs means it'll keep up with/beat a remapped 100. It's not unreasonable I don't think.

Standard 1.6 N/A Cooper only has 115bhp, a re-map will give it 125bhp maximum.
It wont beat a re-mapped PD100 at all, that is utter nonsense! Cooper S is a different story all together because they have the aid of a turbo charger (or supercharger in the earlier models)

My 6N2 Gti is literally identical to a Fabia vRS in a straight line (both standard) but on a twisty road the Fabia will leave me for dead.
Diesels are all about Torque rather than Bhp, my car has a mere 112lbs ft of torque compared to the Fabia's 224 as standard.

TDI's are really underated and despite them not reving very highly they reach peak power & torque at around 2500 - 3000 rpm compared to a normal petrol car which doesnt peak until around 5000rpm, even higher with Jap cars.

You have to Rev the nuts off a N/A petrol to keep it at peek power and they have so many flat spots, TDI's pull well in every gear as soon as they hit boost they start flying. PD100 Re-mapped to 146bhp would leave a Mini Cooper (N/A) trailing behind, on the hills the Cooper would be left a long long way behind.
