Re: Endi_GTI's GTI
Thanks for the positive comments guys. So to come in the post is a new aero genuine rear wiper and a new rear GTi badge (thanks to 'MalakianCigaro')
For the poor signal of the Sharan aerial i thought one of these may help:

Not sure how you would wire it up really. I guess it goes inline with the aerial but is that red wire some sort of feed to it. Not sure if any of you have one of these?

Re: Endi_GTI's GTI
In reply to your question in my thread... the rear wiper isn't too hard to fit. Lift up the cap thingy, undo the bolt... pull!. Mine was quite hard to remove, it was so stiff I thought i was doing something wrong... maybe some WD40 would have helped? Fitting is the opposite of removal. Place the new wiper arm over the bolt, lock it in place, put the cap on, sorted. It's pretty self explanatory

Re: Endi_GTI's GTI
Right then quick update. Wiper has come and is on
thanks to Nigel for that one. Really looks good. I also have the new rear GTI badge but going to wait for a nice dry day to do that one. Went out for a little drive today with my mate who has a really nice camera so took a few pictures in the wet. Sorry its a bit dirty!!

And a bit of a mess around with photoshop which looks kinda cool:

This weekend i hope to wax oil the underneath of the car. Going to do it at work on the ramp. Have any of you guys done this before? And are there any areas that are more prone to rust than others? The gritters have been down my road all ready yesterday
so need to get some protection on it
Matt,

Re: Endi_GTI's GTI
Ha ha yeah i know mate. There on there because its where i work and they have helped me out re doing the gear box and all the other things that were wrong with it so thought i would give them some cred. But i agree doesn't look very in keeping. I see a lot of you guys have the german surounds which i really like. May look into some of themalexperkins wrote:Looking good mate

Thanks for all the comments though guys very much appreciated. Wax oiled it this weekend so hopefully should give it some more protection underneath.
BUT!! found the near side CV boot has gone so guess it will be back on the ramp later this week
Yeah i agree it would look better lowered a tad. Don't really know a lot about coil covers etc. Guess this will be the next big project when i have sufficient funds. Uni seems to be eating it all up at the moment

Re: Endi_GTI's GTI
On the topic of waxoyl, the bodywork is fully galvanised and chemically undersealed at the factory....should never need to reseal it again unless its a replacement panel with no seal underneath.
CV Boot is great fun to change on these
I had a great time and made a lovely mess with all the grease

Only did the bits where it had worn off. Mostly around the rear end of the car. The rear cross member was especially bad so taken most of the surface rust off and sprayed it up. Left all the bits that where fine alone. Silly to cake it all up when there is no need to.
Anyone got any more suggestions to protect it for winter?
