While I'm at it - Rear Badge Painting?

Post by b1ondie86 »

I thought while I'm in spraying mode, I might as well spray my rear badge to go with my wheels etc. I know how to remove the rear badge, but I'm wondering how to separate the silver "VW" from the plain grey background I've got. My plan is to paint the grey background the same colour as my car (metallic tossa blue) and the spray the VW with gloss black. I'm also wondering what glue I could use to stick the badge back together with, and what glue I can use to stick the whole badge back onto my car with?

Thanks guuuuyyyyys! :D

The silver bit is just glued onto the back piece, just use a stanley knife to cut the glue off and it should pull apart.

To reassemble it, just stick it back together in the same way as before using superglue. Then get some strong double sided tape from halfords etc and stick it back onto the tailgate.

It's just held on with strong tape. Heat it up with a hairdryer or something and use a piece of fishing line/dental floss to 'saw' it off.

Thanks again Blaze, sounds easy enough and I'm hoping it'll look as good as I'm imagining it will!
