Re: Ben's Polo GTI - Black Front VW Badge! Page 11

Post by Bradley »

I think the badge ties in pretty well to be honest Ben,black badges always look so much better on black cars.As for the Jap sized plate i personally don't really like them,it makes the number plate look like too much of an after thought to be honest.

Good little update though.

Cheers Bradley :D

I think the Jap plate is always going to be a love or hate thing and i'm still undecided too, its something I will think about in the next few months and make a decision in the spring. The other option i'm thinking about is making some new plate brackets because mine sit a little too close to the grill and if your in a traffic Jam the fan does come on quite often which is a bit of problem.

The next expensive item i'm after is the 280mm G60 brake upgrade but again that will be next year

Looks good Ben. I was thinking about spraying up a spare VW badge of mine... just as a bit of a trial over winter or something. :)

Yeah mate its certainly worth doing if you have a spare VW badge knocking about.
I always thought the Black GTI's needed the chrome VW and GTI badges to break up the colour of the car but having now fitted one its definately changed my mind, plus if I do ever get bored I can always easily put the chrome badge back on :D

I think it does need to be Matt black though rather than Gloss

Just ordered a K&N Typhoon Induction kit after weeks of temptation 8)
Unfortunately they dont sell the Polished Aluminium Typhoons anymore so I had to settle for a Silver one like Craig (TrottaGTI).

Cost me £200 and that included delivery & VAT so pretty pleased with that price.
Average price for these is £220-240 so not a bad deal.

My BMC will be for sale in the new year so if anybody is interested then please let me know.
Looking for £100 (delivered) that includes everything BMC CDA, bracket, 70mm Air Feed (flexible ducting), BMC OE 90 degree elbow and the original box with instructions. The Silver wrap can be removed so dont let that put you off  Its only done about 7,000 miles and I cleaned it out just last month

I have also picked up a second hand rocker cover as well as spare coolant & wind screen washer fluid reservoirs.
I'm going to get a fancy spray job on the rocker cover and do some nice colour coding in the engine bay.

I was suprised you didn't snap one up when craig got his to be honest Ben,although it is alot of money id pay the price you did sounds like a pretty good deal to be fair especially as you'll make half back by selling the BMC.

Look foward to seeing it fitted dude 8)

Yeah I wanted one for a while and when Craig got his it made me loose a little love with the BMC haha
I'll post some pics up as soon as its fitted. Due to the horrendous snow at the moment I probably wont be fitting it until after Christmas.

Yeah mate had to get one after seeing yours 8)
I was after the polished aluminium one but they dont make that anymore so I just went for the silver one like yours.
I think i'll run it on the short ram at first mate just because of the crap weather and then i'll get it all the way down in the spring when the weather is better.

Should be delivered on Friday now :)

Small Update 08/12/2010
Ordered a few new bits for the Polo to keep it ticking over nicely in the winter.
k&N Typhoon delivery was delayed due to the snow so that's supposed to be delivered tomorrow :)....well hopefully anyway.

I have also ordered some new valve caps for the G60's, New headlight protectors for the Xenons, and some LED H7's for the foglights (blue/white). I'm trying to buy some Wheel nut caps so I can put my G60 centre caps on (finally) and I have just ordered some new special bits from America

I wont tell anybody what they are until they are fitted but i'm hoping its a pretty unique touch to the Car

Sorry for the lack of pics too, I cant find my Camera charger at the moment :(
