gearbox help

Post by leon371 »

Unfortunately its come to the time when my 6n2 gearbox has really started to show signs of not being able to last much longer, and have decided to get the problem sorted before i get stuck somewhere on a country lane or somewhere miles away in the dark... however through the many gearbox refurb website ive been through, have no idea which one to pick.... has anyone got any suggestions or recomendations where i can get it done quick for a good price? thanks

I bought my last gearbox off ebay of all places and went for free fitting.

Had to drive from Birmingham to Kent with a gearbox that was rattly as hell (Turned out to be the pinion gear has half its teeth missing)

Really nice people there, heres a link to them on ebay:

Turns out the box i had fitted just 8 months earlier was bodged with 1.0 litre gearbox part and the crown wheel was 1/4 size of a gti one :(

All running good now though :D

They are top quality. They chucked a new clutch in there whilst the box was out at cost price.
