Pressed plates...
Apologies for bringing up a question I'm sure has been asked many times before. How have you guys fitted your pressed plates?
I don't really want to drill them and would prefer to use something to stick them on... I'm thinking Velcro? any suggestions?
Re: Pressed plates...
my boyfriend has stuck loads of 1mm pads. and when i say loads i mean loads lol. the damn ends kept popping off. so probably not a good suggestion. the thicker pads stick a lot better but its weither you like the thickins or not.
Re: Pressed plates...
I know you said you didn't want too but i have drilled mine and used some nice button top caps.Looks the bomb,no s**t velco or skimpy sticky pads get that s**t to stay on all the time man.
Battery drill is your friend don't be afraid.

Re: Pressed plates...
Either drill them as Bradley said (his look class with the caps) or get yourself a set of plate holders from Dubmeister or Platemyride. They hold the plate perfectly and you simply screw the holder in using the original number plate holes in the bumpers. The plates are held in place with several clips and literally dont go anywhere

I'm not convinced with Velcro but if your confident it will work Nigel then its worth a try.
I think there's a good chance they will fall off personally (especially at high speed) and there is the problem that they could very easily be stollen or tampered with. If its cheap enough to try then give it a go though

Re: Pressed plates...
The stuff I got was fairly industrial looking... it had a picture on the cover of it holding a hammer to a wall and it also said "heavy duty" so i kind of thought 'surely this will be enough?!'
Whenever I was putting them on last night, the first time i put the front one on it was a bit crooked so i tried to remove it and put it back on and it was very nearly bending the plate itself with me pulling at it so it SHOULD be ok.. no idea how long that'll last though. I'll be sure to keep you all posted though.

Re: Pressed plates...
Already got one dude. Fitted it when i did the spacers. Looks loads better.
Re: Pressed plates...
Mine were stuck on with velcro coins from halfords, they are really strong and have never come off, even when jetwashing.
I chose this method of fixing cause i kept getting stopped for having pressed plates and after £90 worth of fines, decided to just swap them over when i went to s a show, etc.
Have retired them now mind, wasnt worth the hassle in the end

Re: Pressed plates...
A friend of mine got me some sticky foam pads that they use at his workplace (Skoda garage). They are truly amazing! Super sticky, the 'plates are going nowhere
I used four on each 'plate - might be why they are stuck on so good?
