Dodgy Interior light

Post by funlovincriminal »

Seems when I do a fairly sharp turn, my interior light comes on. Random I know

I'm assuming loose wire somewhere, anyone had this before?

Also the 'headlights warning buzz' when you open the door stopped working at a similar time - is this connected?

Just had the 6n2 polo haynes manual delivered, will have a look through later see if I can find the offending part.

It was a laugh at first, now it's an annoyance, especially on dark nights, take a quick left off a roundabout & the whole car interior lights up.

Thanks Alex, i've unberried my car from the snow sort of & had a look, I know the bit you mean - On the door pillar, It's got a rubber cover. Will remove the switch when the snow goes & have a look for loose wiring. Otherwise probably a new switch.

I replaced the door switch yesterday and problem is fixed. No random switching on of interior light and the headlights warning buzz works again.

Thanks Alex

Is the door switch the same part as the boot switch?

No mate. Boot switch is integral to the lock mechanism
