Frozen Washer Jets / Pump

Has anyone else got this issue on their Polo at the mo? My washer jets on the GT have not been working for a good few days now, ever since the big chill the other night here (-15!!)

There is no noise from the pump either so I'm guessing it could be clogged up with ice. I was at my local dealer earlier for a new bulb, they've had plenty of cars in with the same issue and advice is just to leave it. Couple of questions:

-Anyone know where the washer pump is located?
-The washer bottle runs down the left side of the car right? Anyway to access it?

Oh and before someone says, yes I know I didn't have enough screenwash itself in there mixed with water...

Washer pump is mounted the the bottle. Youll have to take the wheel off and arch liner out - its rather awkward to get to lol

As for the pump not working, it mightve blown to fuse so its worth checking that.

i put some hot water into my system to try and free the lines up but ive found the rear and front pipes have popped off there mounts, my MOT is due jan17th so il just get it fixed then, if there is no noise tho then the fuse has most likely gone and will need replaced.

Yes, I'd agree with your garage, the only sure way to speed this up is to place the car in a garage and heat it up for quite a long time. This weather, and the extended period that its been around - about four weeks, is catching a lot of people out in this respect - and quite a lot of those getting caught out do not thing of themselves as being stupid. Luckily (?!?) for me, I live in an area that often gets crap cold weather so I take no chances and run with Holts concentrated stuff at 4>1 in warm weather and 2>1 in cold weather - so far so good!

I think that its just the cold weather that buggers them up,

My rear washer wasn't working and after investigating it I found that it has blown the pipe off the pump and its just spitting the screen wash out on to the floor under the engineer when I press the squirter.

Turns out it defrosted after a long drive the other night without needing to take anything apart, lesson learnt topped right up with screenwash now a good mix so it won't freeze again!
