Cam Belt Tensioner?

I am having a few issues with my polo, car wont rev past 5500rpm just seems to hold back, when revving out of gear car pops and bangs. reading through this thread i have a bad feeling, can any one post a photo of said tensioner? to see what i am looking for? i have had a few people round to look at it and still undiagnosed

Could be the cam position sender - these are a common failure on the polos and cost about £25 to replace.

You need to get it plugged into vag-com and get the fault codes to be sure though
