Key on the way out?

Post by Godderz23 »

Guys, my keyfob is getting a bit lazy, every now and then it wont lock/unlock my doors, have to stand right next to it and keep pressing it until it finally works.

New battery or something worse?

Cheers in advance, Chris. :)

Does the light flash?

Mine did this and I changed the battery and the extra distance gained was unbelievable.

Normally shorter distance etc is caused by a low battery.Get it changed and let us know how you get on.

Yep this happened to one of my keys too. Got the battery changed and it's perfectly fine now.

I have got the same problem with mine, I literally have to stand about a yard away to get it to work lol

New Battery is something that needs to be ordered :)

When the battery is new you can literally lock it from 30+ meters away haha.

This isnt always the case though. One of my fobs had developed a fault, that even with a new battery, the range was about 30cm from the lock and half the time it still didnt work. New fob and it was happy days!

That's the problem I got with mine before It eventually stopped working. Was going to order the part from hickleys but trying to find the cheapest way go get a spare key made aswel as this at the moment.
Apparently the transponder can be cloned and coded. But need to find some way/how to do it lol

Cheers will do, only thing is I think they are quite far away from me, so unless they're dirt cheap might not be worth going down
